The Besom is a practical equipping ministry, providing a bridge between those who want to give time, money, skills or things to those who are in need.
The Besom charity was established in 1986, and there are now over 30 Besoms operating across the country and abroad helping people from local churches take steps across the bridge towards those in need.
The Besom in Dorking has been running since 2007; to date we have been able to pass on excellent quality things eg white goods, beds, bedding, furniture, and household items to individuals and families who have been referred to us by local social workers, health and housing workers etc working throughout Mole Valley.
We have also enabled small groups and individuals wanting to give their time to clear gardens, decorate/refresh rooms, and get alongside people needing a helping hand.
If you have a growing desire/passion to serve the poor/those in need in your local area do get in touch with those that lead our Besom. All Besoms are lay-led, and aim to be ecumenical, serving all local Christians/churches who may want to be involved in this exciting prayer based ministry.
