  • Ballroom and Latin Dance Classes, St. Paul’s Church, Dorking starting Saturday 3rd November 10.45-11.45am .Dance teachers – David and Felicity Charles. Cost- £5 per person per session. Please email David at:- ‘’ to confirm you are attending/need more information. Dancing Days/Dates:- Saturdays 3rd 10th 17th 24th November and 1st and 8th December. All monies go to support the children at the Springs Ministries Orphanage, Kisumu, Kenya. (We take no money for ourselves).
    We teach basic Ballroom (Waltz, Quickstep, Jive and Tango) and Latin (Cha,cha,cha, and Rumba)  
  • Invitation to a companionship and cake afternoon tea - Wednesday 07 November 2018 2:30pm to 4pm at The Christian Centre Cafe - Time for a chat, share a poem or a story, eat scones and cakes as well as listen to some music.  All Welcome!  More info/contact:
  • Dorking Quakers invite you to a candle-lit service, Sunday 11th November 6.30-7.30pm. An event marking the end of four years worldwide commemorations of World War One, to reflect on how we can all play a part in creating a more peaceful world.  Using Peter Appleton’s poem ‘The Responsibility’ as a focus we will reflect in the stillness and silence of a programmed Quaker Meeting how we all have a share in that responsibility.  Our doors will be open from 6.15 and the Meeting for Worship will begin at 6.30. Refreshments and a warm welcome to our lovely building will be on offer afterwards. Please do let us know about your attendance either way to help with planning and catering.  If there is somebody who you feel would like to come, or should be invited to this event, then please do email Sally Elias:
  • SMURFS (St Martin's Under 5's) - Friday Mother and Toddler Group - Message from Cath Merrikin -  I have just started helping the Smurfs (St Martins Under Fives) Mother and Toddler Group which meets in the Christian Centre on Friday mornings in term time between 10 am and 12 noon.  If there is anyone who could help me with this group, I would be grateful.  Or if you know of anyone who could help, please contact me.  Basically, we would be helping to keep this wonderful group continue running.  They are a super bunch of  mums and toddlers.  For more info please contact Cathy Merrikin: Thank you.
  • The Dorking Christian Centre is looking for a cook for Christmas Day 2018. (volunteer or paid).  If you are interested please contact the Managers on 01306 8868390 or email  They are also looking for someone to help host this event as well as volunteers to serve of the day.

  • Creative Crafts - New Group at United Reformed Church.  Click here for flyer.  Starts 20th September. Donations of wool, knitting or crochet needles, cross stitch/tapestry (new or started), colouring books, and other unwanted crafting materials greatly appreciated.
  • Conquest Art - Is a charitable art group in Dorking inspiring people with disabilities and long term health issues to discover their creative energy and build self-confidence through art - The Dorking group re-opens on Thursday, 6th September 2018 at Dorking United Reformed Church.  It will be held the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 2pm to 4pm.  No art experience necessary.  Make new friends and have fun.  For further info on becoming a member or  to volunteer call 0203 044 2731 or email
  • Homestart is a local charity based in Redhill which supports families in the East Surrey area who have at least one child under five and are facing some difficulty in their life. We desperately need new volunteers and are starting an 8-week training course in September at Reigate Park Church.  We are looking for volunteers who can attend an 8 week preparation course starting in January (one day a week, within school hours and not including school holidays) and can then commit to visiting a local family once a week for 2-3 hours.  For further information: or call the office on 01737 770220
