St. Paul’s Church Nursery operates from purpose built rooms on the ground floor of the Church Centre.

We aim to deliver excellence in both education and care within a loving, safe and welcoming environment. Your child’s individuality will be celebrated and respected in order that he or she is helped to develop.

The Nursery was set up in 2003 to be an integral part of the St. Paul’s Church vision and a practical way to demonstrate Christian love and service in the Community.

We believe that through play, children learn about their world and themselves and achieve the most in these early years. We plan and provide a broad, stimulating and balanced curriculum both indoors and out, following the guidance of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It is vital for children to enjoy their learning in order for them to fulfill their own individual potential. This is at the heart of what we offer.

We recognise that parents/carers are the first educators of their children and we build on the foundations already laid by them, working in partnership.

Meet the Team

We recognise that our staff are the key resources in our School, providing the quality teaching and learning that underpins our provision. It is important to us that our staff are kind, caring and mature people who have a love for children and a commitment to the development of the Nursery. As well as practitioners, we employ a Treasurer/Bookkeeper, an Administrator and also have regular volunteers from the Church Community who are a valuable asset to our team. So who are we…?

Jacquie Moulder

Head Teacher

  • I have been at the Nursery since February 2015. I started my teaching career at Secondary level, as a Modern Languages teacher and Head of Department, and also in a Pastoral role. I then moved to Early Years’ through a children’s Music Group I ran when my friend was on Maternity Leave. This ignited a love of the younger children so I continued studying to further my knowledge and understanding of the role of Early Years and its importance: achieving a post graduate EYPS.

My children went to St Paul’s Nursery and moved on to St. Paul’s Primary and are now at the Ashcombe. I am proud to be part of the Team I work with and its outstanding status. My particular passion is Communication and Language and in particular the way music can develop confidence and literacy in children; by using nonsense rhymes and rhythmic tones we can extend the children’s love of languages: what I lack in tonality, I make up for in enthusiasm! We have a great wealth of languages in our Nursery and I love the fact the children are exposed to these and diverse cultures and heritages which we are able to celebrate.

I am also a Forest School Leader, through the The Wildlife Trust, having gained my Level 3 qualification in January 2020. This means our setting is an accredited Forest School.

Nicola Breen

Nursery Practitioner

  • I joined St. Paul's Nursery in 2014 after my son left the Nursery to go to school. It is such a privilege to be in Early Years Education, getting to know the children, seeing their progress and loving how they make me smile every day! As a Nursery Assistant I love being involved in all aspects of the planning, preparation and activities and especially loving assisting with the development of our Forest School sessions.

Naomi Bailey

Administrator

  • I am the most recent addition to the Nursery having sent the last of my children to St Paul's School and what a privilege it is to be here! It was an absolute blessing to have seen all four of my children journey with such enjoyment through St. Paul's Nursery. Now it is an equal pleasure to pay the blessing forward through serving the church and community as part of this wonderful nursery team.

Having a love and a passion for people, please do not hesitate to contact me as your first port of call if you have any queries. I am always here to help.

Katie Davis

Deputy Head Teacher

  • I am qualified primary school teacher and have previously taught reception aged children. I have also spent time teaching singing and drama toddler groups locally, I have a keen interest in expressive arts and design. My own 3 children have all attended the Nursery so I am very happy to be part of the team. I love working with young children and watching them develop and grow in confidence.

Katie Bailey

Nursery Practitioner

  • Since qualifying as a primary school teacher in 2010, I have been privileged enough to teach from the Early Years right the way up to Year 6. I qualified with Music as my specialism and I have always had an interest in the role music can play in child development. My daughter attended St Paul's Nursery and it was during this time that I realised what a special place St Paul's Church Nursery truly was and is. When a child feels safe and happy, they can thrive emotionally and academically and I feel very lucky to be a part of this nurturing and talented team.

Juliette Lister

Senior Nursery Practitioner

  • I have always had a love for teaching children, and after qualifying as a primary school teacher I taught locally for many years. All 3 of my children began their journey of learning at St Paul’s Church Nursery School, so it is a real privilege to now be part of the team. I love seeing the younger children join our close-knit nursery family, and then blossom into older children ready for big school when they leave. I enjoy nurturing their individual needs and in particular broadening their world through Forest School and outdoor learning.

Charlotte Sale

Nursery Practitioner

  • I have worked in Early Years settings for many years. I started off in a nursery working with all ages from 3 months all the way up to pre school. I loved my time there and that’s where I realised I loved working with children. I went on to become a nanny for a family of 3 children which was a wonderful four years. Once I had my first child I went onto Childminding which worked so well for me as I could stay at home with my first child but carry on working in the Early Years.

All 3 of my children have attended St. Paul’s nursery, I have loved watching them thrive here. I began as a volunteer helper and now I’m studying for the Forest School level 3 leadership course! I am so excited to now be working here!
